The Cayman Islands

Three Islands. Countless Adventures.

The three islands of the Caymans - Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman - are celebrated the world over for their spectacular climate, extraordinary beaches, marine environment and relaxed lifestyle. No wonder they're among the most popular vacation destinations in the Caribbean.

A Thriving Tourist Economy

The Cayman Islands are among the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean, with a pre-pandemic average of more than two million visitors annually. About 75% of those arrive on cruise ships, with the remainder arriving by air. According to market analyst BREA, tourists spent more than $175 million in the islands in the year before the pandemic, and activity has been rapidly returning to normal since the travel moratorium has ended.

Per the Economics and Statistics Office of the Cayman Islands, the territory has historically averaged more than 560 cruise ship dockings per year bringing in more than 1.6 million visitors, with an additional 380 thousand guests arriving by air. While cruise passengers tend to each spend a day in port, air travelers spend an extended period of time in the islands, making our tourist excursions particularly attractive to themFlights to the Caymans usually land in George Town, providing easy access to our excursions.

Tourist activity at anticipated levels are fully sufficient to support our submarine occupancy projections not only during the peak winter tourist season but during the rest of the year, as well.

What about the weather?

With year-round high temperatures in the 80s and more than 300 sunny days per year, the Cayman Islands offer one of the most agreeable climates to be found anywhere. Like any Caribbean destination, of course, hurricanes can be a concern, but Deep Blue Submarines has a comprehensive emergency contingency plan in place to protect our staff, our vessels and our facilities. We expect to be operational for an estimated 300+ days per year, with 12 days anticipated for cancellations due to factors such as weather and 14 days for maintenance.
